The works from this series are compositions that combine music or words in one frame onto the canvas.
Each work is based on a text, poem, or musical piece that the artist re-transcribes onto the painting by hitting the aluminum panel with the oil paint on a stamp and thereby creating a rhythm. He rarely reveals the initial chosen text or piece of music to the public, the written words or musical notes are therefore always made imperceivable to us. For him it’s a way of eradicating the music or the language and transforming it into abstraction, rather than trying to read it. The language is reduced to a pattern, allowing us to go back to see it without understanding, to go back to the stage of the un-knowing where only the visual and emotional perception exist.

Les œuvres de cette série sont des compositions qui combinent la musique ou les mots dans un seul cadre sur la toile.
Chaque œuvre est basée sur un texte, un poème ou un morceau de musique que l’artiste retranscrit sur le tableau en frappant le panneau d’aluminium avec la peinture à l’huile sur un tampon et en créant ainsi un rythme. Il révèle rarement au public le texte ou le morceau de musique initialement choisi, les mots écrits ou les notes de musique nous sont donc toujours rendus imperceptibles. Pour lui, c’est une façon d’éradiquer la musique ou le langage et de les transformer en abstraction, plutôt que d’essayer de les lire. Le langage est réduit à un motif, ce qui nous permet de retourner le voir sans le comprendre, de retourner au stade de l’inconnaissance où seules les perceptions visuelles et émotionnelles existent.
