With this work, Daniel Buren is exploring new perspectives, reappropriating and questioning the mythical form of the pyramid. The present work is made up of pyramids that develop their three dimensions in mirrored prisms, punctuated by 8.7-cm wide stripes. The interdependence between the varying place of exhibition and the components is the foundation of Buren’s thought as an artist: the artwork is not an object, it is a place from which to perceive the world. In other words, according to the artistic vocabulary initiated by him, each creation depends absolutely on the place in which it appears and the presence of the viewer.
